About Our Region

Whitehorse region officially joined Community Veterinary Outreach in 2022, after a successful pilot One Health Clinic in May of 2021. The first One Health Clinic was held in partnership with Yukon Anti- Poverty Coalition, as part of the services offered at Whitehorse Connects, an event that brings services together for those who wouldn’t otherwise access them – haircuts, tax services, immunizations, STI testing, photography, food, clothing, and more. Since then, we have established additional partnerships with the Kwanlin Dün Health Centre, Blood Ties Four Directions, and Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation. There have been 11 One Health Clinics and 2 Pet Fairs held in the Yukon since 2021, and volunteers have also supported clinics held in the rural communities of Pelly Crossing and Ross River, Yukon, which were coordinated by the Canadian Animal Assistance Team.
