Alexa BeaversSecretary

Alexa fell in love with the ONE HEALTH concept as leader of Boehringer Ingelheim and Ashoka’s global partnership called Making More Health, a long term initiative with the goal to improve health in communities around the world by identifying and supporting the most promising solutions to challenging health problems. Through Making More Health, Alexa partnered closely with Michelle Lem and together they championed a team of volunteers to see how Michelle’s Canada-based Community Veterinary Outreach model could potentially change the lives of pets and people in Kansas City.  This early work proved that the model could make a positive impact and when Lara Bower took on the challenge to bring it to life, Alexa was delighted to be able to support as a member of the CVO KC board.  A self-proclaimed pragmatic idealist, Alexa firmly believes that tapping in to the link between people, pets and community will make lasting positive impact and is delighted to bring her change management skills to CVO.

Currently, Alexa is Director of Learning and Organizational Development at Boehringer Ingelheim and is the founder of The Axela Group; which provides coaching and pragmatic approaches to business executives leading transformation and change initiatives.  Alexa holds a Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute and has a Masters of Arts in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. Alexa lives in Richmond, Virginia, with her husband, three children and her chocolate Labrador retriever, Scout.
