Kelsi Jessamine
Vancouver, BC
Kelsi Jessamine’s love for animals and her passion for working with vulnerable populations inspired her to begin volunteering with CVO Ottawa in 2007 while studying Animal Biology. Kelsi’s early experiences with CVO sparked a deep commitment to improving the lives of both animals and humans, setting the foundation for her future contributions to One Health and her work with underserved communities.
After moving to the west coast to pursue her nursing education, Kelsi collaborated with CVO to launch Vancouver’s first One Health Clinic in 2016. The success of this pilot clinic led to the expansion of One Health Clinics across Vancouver, offering vital support to people and their companion animals. In 2021, Kelsi completed her Master of Science in Nursing, where her research focused on evaluating the value of CVO One Health Clinics in promoting health and wellness for people and their pets in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
Today, Kelsi continues to engage in research projects with CVO and to coordinate the 4-5 annual clinic alongside Dr. Kyla Townsend, ensuring they remain an invaluable resource for both animals and people in the community.
