Patricia Lechten graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary medicine in 1985 and moved to Ontario a few years later.  She has been the owner of Allandale Veterinary Hospital in Barrie, Ontario since 1997.  Her drive and passion for veterinary medicine has brought her to be on the Board of Directors of multiple organizations, including: the Canadian Golden Retriever Rescue and the Global Alliance of Animals and People (GAAP). She was the 2019 President of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) and received the 2021 Outstanding Veterinarian Award from the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association.

Patty feels strongly about equal access to veterinary care for all pet owners.  In addition to working with Community Veterinary Outreach, she has participated in multiple trips to Roatan, Honduras; Todos Santos, Guatemala; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; and numerous First Nations Reservations on spay/neuter/vaccination missions.
