Anne Downes studied biology at Carleton University before receiving her degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Guelph. 

She has been a part of Community Veterinary Outreach for nearly 20 years and is co-director of the Ottawa region. 

Anne is a devoted mother to her daughter Emma and an advocate for animal welfare and for marginalized people in our society.
